Oh, San Fransisco, how I love you:
Lesbian couple wedded at SF City Hall. These women have been together for
fifty-one years. Considering how high the divorce rate is in this country, anyone who wants to talk about the sanctity of marriage can kiss my equal rights for all-loving ass.
Tomorrow night Greg and I are going to see James Naughton in concert (he doesn't have a high mainstream profile but noteable TV guest roles include Ally's dad on Ally McBeal and Angela's ex on Who's the Boss). This is the third time I've seen him and the second time I've seen this particular show. I wasn't going to go see it again (it wasn't a planned part of the Prince's season; Naughton is filling in for Tom Wopat who was supposed to do his cabaret show those nights but was invited to rejoin the Broadway cast of Chicago), but I just got a half-price ticket offer via email. I wasn't willing to pay $40 apiece to see someone I'd seen twice, but $20 apiece? Heck yes.
I missed seeing him when he was on Broadway in the fabulous City of Angels (ironically I saw his replacement...Tom Wopat) but I saw and loved him when he was in Chicago (originating the role of Billy Flynn, another irony - have he and Tom Wopat ever been seen in a room together?) and he is fantastic in concert. His CD is really good but it's missing his version of Hammerstein and Kern's The Folks Who Live On the Hill. I hope he sings it tomorrow.
